A windy 3 weeks on Tour
At the airport… again! It is Monday morning and I am heading back to Orlando for a week off before next weeks tournament in Mobile, Alabama. The last 3 weeks we have played in very windy and cold conditions, so I am very excited to see the sun back in Florida again. Playing in wind challenge your swing, your technique and your mental game more than anything. It usually requires a lot of patience and commitment when the windy gusts from all different directions and you have to trust hitting a 7 iron on one hole 175yards and 130yds into the wind on the next hole. It is definitely mentally exhausting having to count and play for the wind every shot.
The first two weeks in Hawaii and Dallas was disappointing consider I hit the ball very well from tee to green but struggle on the greens and didn’t score good enough. The course in Kingsmill last week is one of the more challenging courses we play all year, which usually suits me pretty good. You get rewarded for good shots and penalized if you dont hit good shots. After a bit of a slow start Thursday and Friday, I called my coach and got my long game back on track over the phone, only missing 2 greens over the weekend finishing T9! Happy to see progress in my game, and my tecnique holding up well in the game. Patience, patience and more practice and hopefully getting putts to drop and I will be in good shape!
Looking forward to a couple of days off before it is time to go back to the grind and practice for the next 4 week stretch of tournaments coming up. Hard work pays off!
